Brian Mogus

Brian Mogus has been the head coach of the Malone University men’s and women’s tennis teams since the fall of 2011. A native of Canton and a graduate of Canton South High School, Brian served as an assistant on the Pioneer tennis staff for one season prior to accepting the head coaching position.  His prior coaching experience includes serving as a tennis instructor at the Hall of Fame Fitness Center from 2003-2008 in addition to working as a tennis assistant at Glenmoor Country Club in 2008 and 2009.

Brian currently serves as a tennis pro at Green Tennis Club in Uniontown and also at Brookside Country Club in Canton. He is also certified by the USTA as an official and chair umpire. In addition, he also earned his certification as a USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) teaching professional. He is also a Certified Mental Toughness Training Specialist through the Human Performance Institute by Dr. Jim Loehr and Lorenzo Beltrame.

Brian graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2010 with a degree in Sport Business and also has a master’s degree in Sport Science/Coaching from the University of Akron.

While at Mount Union, Brian was a four-year member of both the men’s tennis and men’s soccer teams. He was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection on the tennis court, tallying a combined total of 109 career victories in singles and doubles play. He recorded a perfect 18-0 record during his junior year and helped the Purple Raiders to their first-ever NCAA Tournament Berth.

Brian also excelled in soccer at Mount Union as a three-year starter. He scored four goals during his career and was the recipient of the team’s Most Improved award in 2007.
