Biography

2019 Fall: Russell played five rounds for the Pioneers in the fall of 2019. She had 20 pars and hit over 7 fairways per round. Rach averaged 35 putts and finished with a career-best 88 average, a 7-stroke improvement over the course of her 4-year career. Rachel had a 12th-place finish at the Phipps Memorial, shooting a 90 following a 14th place finish and an 88 at Westminster. Spring 2020 was cancelled due to coronavirus... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2018-19: Russell played eight rounds as a junior in 2018-19, averaging a 93.75. Rach recorded one birdie and 32 pars on the season and hit nearly 7 fairways per round. Rachel’s fewest putts in an 18-hole round were an impressive 28. Russell shot a career-best 84 at the Mount Union Invite (3/30/19)... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team

2017-18: Rachel Russell played in 6 tournaments in 17-18…Rachel led the Lady Pios in Fairways hit with an average of 43%...tied for 4th among her teammates for fewest putts for 18 holes with 31…best finish was 9th place tie at the Ursuline Invitational.

2016-17: Russell tied for 10th at the G-MAC Championship, where she shot her season-best single round of 86 and her season best two-day score of 176

Biography: Rachel is the daughter of Lisa and Rob Russell. Rach played for Jack Hutchinson at Warren Howland High School. She is a Nursing major and after graduation, Rachel wants to become a traveling nurse. Her hobbies include playing games and drinking coffee. The best part of her golf game is her accuracy. Her favorite club is her 5 Wood. Rachel was Academic All-Ohio, Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio, and qualified for the Division I Northeast District Tournament during her high school career. She played one year of high school basketball as well. Her favorite professional golfer is Jordan Spieth. Rachel's favorite motto is, “If you ain’t first, you’re last,” Ricky Bobby. Her favorite Bible verse is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Philippians 4:13.
