Biography
2020-21: Played 234 holes as a senior and finished the season with a career best 84.38 average. Lauren's 25 putts for 18 holes stands as a program record as does her 55 putts for 36 holes. Lauren completed 945 holes in her 4-year career, competed in 52.5 rounds and had 47 birdies and 370 pars. She finished with a 33.31 putting average and a career average of 85.66.
2019-20: Griggy played six rounds in the fall of 2019. Lauren had nine birdies and made 43 pars. She hit 8 fairways per round and averaged 32.5 putts per round. Lauren finished with an 84 average for the fall season. She shot a career-best round of 77 and finished tied for 3rd overall with a two-day total of 162 at the John Carroll Invite (9/14-15/19). Spring 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team
2018-19: Griggy had another strong season for the Pioneers playing as the #2 golfer during her sophomore year in 2018-19. Lauren averaged an 85.4 for the season playing in 21 rounds. She posted 158 pars on the year to go along with 17 birdies in 378 holes. Lauren averaged nearly 8 fairways per round and 6 greens in regulation. Lauren shot a career best round of 78 at the Cumberland Trail Classic (9/23/18). She was also a member of Malone’s record breaking 18-hole low team score (321) at the Music City Invitational (10/22/18).
2017-18: Lauren Griggy played in 8 tournaments as a freshman in 17-18…she had 2 Top 10 finishes for Malone’s Blue Team…part of record setting team for 18 and 36 holes at Cumberland Trail Golf Classic…Lauren’s best score was an 81 at Old Hickory Golf Course at the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee…her 88 scoring average ranked 3rd on the team as did her 75 pars…had 10 birdies and a 34% GIR on the season.
Biography: Lauren is the daughter of Darrin Griggy and Michelle Griggy. Lauren graduated from Green High School in 2017 where she earned All-Federal League and All-County honors playing for head coach Jake Shocklee. Lauren is interested in pursuing a degree in education and a minor in Bible. Her hobbies include drinking coke and reading her Bible. Lo’s favorite fast food is Taco Bell and favorite restaurant is Wasabi. Lauren’s favorite golfer is Stacy Lewis and favorite athlete is Mia Hamm. Lauren believes the best part of her golf game is her driver and she is working hard to improve her short game. Her dream spring break course is anywhere in Hawaii! Lauren’s motto is, “Work hard in silence, let your success be your noise.” Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
