Monica Bragg begins her tenth season as an assistant coach with the Pioneer women’s program in 2011. Monica graduated from Malone in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education (K-12) and Elementary Education (1-8). She then earned her master’s degree in the Art of Teaching in 2002 from Marygrove College located in Detroit, Michigan.
While at Malone, Monica was a three-time qualifier to the NAIA National Cross Country Championships. In addition to garnering NCCAA All-American recognition in both track & field and cross country, she also competed in the marathon at the NAIA National Track & Field Championships, coming away with an 11th-place finish.
After graduation, Monica taught in Sidney, Ohio where she was the middle school cross country coach in 1997 and the varsity coach in 1998 and 1999. She then moved on to Troy Christian School in 2000 and 2001, where she earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Eagles to a pair of Metro Buckeye Conference Championships.
Monica, who also coached the Malone men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams during the program’s inaugural season (2009-10), was inducted into Tiffin Columbian High School’s Athletic Hall of fame in 2002. She currently works as an Intervention Specialist at Lake Middle School in Hartville and lives in North Canton with her husband, Shannon, and their son, T.J.
