2019-20: Fresenko scored a pair of top 10 finishes at the G-MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. He placed seventh in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:23.48 and eighth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:45.81. Fresenko set a new personal best time of 14:52.74 in the 5,000 at the GVSU Big Meet. The outdoor track season was cancelled due to the Coronavirus... Named G-MAC All-Academic Team... CoSIDA Academic All-American (2019-20)

2018-19: Fresenko ran a variety of events from the 800 meter to the 5,000 meter during his indoor season. Fresenko shaved off his mile time at Akron finishing 4:23.47. In the G-MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Fresenko doubled in the 3,000 meter run (4th place) and 5,000 meter run (2nd place). That second-place finish earned him All-Conference Second Team. In the outdoor season, Zach opened up with an impressive 5,000 meter run at the Raleigh Relays in 14:53.60. His best time in the steeplechase was 9:54.69 at Mount Union and 4:07.16 at The Ohio State University. Fresenko placed 4th in his very first 10,000 meter race at the G-MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and then 5th in the 5,000 meter run. Fresenko was named All-Academic Team.

2017-18: Fresenko competed in the 800 meter run, mile run, 3000 meter run and 5000 meter run for the Pioneers during the indoor track season. In the G-MAC Indoor Championships, Fresenko finished 7th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:54.05. His best time in the 800 meter run was 1:59.75 at the GVSU Big Meet, 4:31.53 in the mile run at the Joe Banks Invitational, 8:49.74 in the 3000 meter run at the Kent State Tune-Up, and 15:12.54 in the 5000 meter run at the GVSU Big Meet. In the outdoor season, Fresenko competed in the 800, 1500 and 5000 meter events. At the Otterbein April Fools Invitational, Fresenko had career times in the 800 (2:02.57) and 1500 (4:09.80). Fresenko won the 5000 meter run at the Ashland Alumni Open with a career-best time of 15:24.06. Fresenko placed 10th in the 5000 meter run at the G-MAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 15:37.40.
