Prior to Malone: Stierwalt transferred to Malone from Tiffin University. 

High School: Stierwalt attended St. Joseph Central Catholic High school in Fremont, Ohio where she earned four varsity letters, and broke the school record in the 500-yard freestyle. Academically she was on the honor roll all four years.

Personal: Majoring in Exercise Science.
