2012 will mark Troy Schenk’s seventh season on the football coaching staff at Malone University.  Schenk will continue to serve as the assistant head coach, working with the defensive line and coordinating special teams.

Schenk is a graduate of Trinity International (IL) University and has a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Wellness Management and a minor in Coaching.  He was the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for Sterling (KS) College in 2004 and 2005, during which time the team’s offense was ranked in the top five nationally in rushing for both seasons.  In the fall of 2002, Schenk was a graduate assistant coach in charge of linebackers for Trinity International.  He also served as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach along with being the special teams coordinator for Trinity International in the fall of 2003.

Schenk coached the Pioneer offensive line throughout his first five seasons with the program, during which time 11 Malone offensive linemen earned All-MSFA recognition. Then last fall, under Schenk’s guidance, the Pioneer defensive line racked up 15 quarterback sacks.  The special teams unit also thrived a year ago under Schenk’s guidance as Malone averaged 21.9 yards per kickoff return, including two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Troy, his wife, Candace, and their children, Gracie (3) and Nolan (1), reside in Canton.
