2013 will mark Patrick Youel’s second season on the Pioneer coaching staff. Youel, a member of the Malone football team from 1999-2003, will work primarily with the offensive line again this year, the same position he played during his college career.
Youel excelled both in the classroom and on the field during his time in a Pioneer uniform, twice earning the NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete distinction in addition to being named All-MSFA Mideast League Honorable Mention in 2002 and All-MSFA Mideast League Second Team in 2003. He was also the 2003 recipient of Malone’s David George Leadership Award.
Youel graduated from Malone in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Language Arts/Secondary Education and currently works as an English teacher at Field High School in Mogadore, Ohio.
Youel’s prior coaching experience is highlighted by a four-year period as Field High School’s head football coach, during which time he led the Falcons to a 28-15 overall record, three playoff appearances and the first home postseason football game in school history.
Patrick and his wife, Nikki, have one son, Landon (2).
