Devin Jordan begins his first season on the Malone coaching staff in 2018.
Jordan, who serves as Malone’s Passing Game Coordinator and works with the Pioneer receivers, previously served as the Wide Receivers coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Walsh University for five seasons, helping the Cavaliers break 18 school records in the passing game.
A graduate of Massillon Washington High School, Jordan was a standout wide receiver for the Tigers, earning First Team All-Ohio accolades following his junior and senior seasons. He went on to play wide receiver at the Ohio State University from 2003-2005 and later served as a student coach for the Buckeyes under head coach Jim Tressel and wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell.
“We are getting an outstanding coach with a great resume,” noted Thomas. “Devin played at the highest level college has to offer and will be a great influence on our receivers, in particular Ashton Dulin. He will develop all of our receivers into great route runners.”
Jordan still holds nearly every major receiving record at Massillon Washington and was inducted into the Stark County High School Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
In 2016, he founded Beyond The Game, a non-profit organization that emphasizes the importance of education to young athletes. This summer, Beyond The Game has provided free youth camps to over 800 kids throughout the state of Ohio.
Prior to his time as an assistant at Walsh, Jordan held coaching positions at Wittenberg University and Otterbein University where he coached two All-Americans and seven all-conference players.
While an assistant coach at Ohio State, Jordan was a part of three Big Ten Championship teams and worked with several receivers that went on to careers in the National Football League, including Brian Hartline, Brian Robiskie, Ted Ginn Jr., Anthony Gonzalez and Roy Hall Jr.
