William Huntington returns for his 17th year on the Pioneer cross country and track & field coaching staffs in 2022-23.
Prior to working with Malone’s distance runners, he served as the head cross country coach at Field High School for thirty years during which time he led the Falcons to top-three finishes at the state meet ten different times including two state titles for both the boys’ and girls’ squads.
In 1997, Huntington was the first coach of any sport in Ohio to have both his boys’ and girls’ teams win a state title in the same year.
Huntington ran cross country at West Virginia University and, while at Field, coached a total of 81 All-State performers.
