High School: Kaufman was a four year letterman for Berlin Hiland in golf. Kaufman won Inter-Valley Conference (IVC) Player of the Year in 2019 and was named First Team All-Conference all four years of his high school career. He won the District Finals as an individual in 2018 and 2019 and was named First Team All-District four years in a row. Kaufman held a tournament average of 74.1 in 2019. As a team, the Hiland Hawks won the OHSAA State Championship in 2019, placed fourth in 2018 and won IVC titles in 2018 and 2019 as well as District titles in the same seasons. Academically, Kaufman was involved in National Honor Society and was on the school honor role.
