2017-18: Melanie Smith played in 9 tournaments as a senior…All-Conference performer for 2^nd year in a row…part of Malone’s record setting team that shot 322/644 for 18 and 36 holes at Cumberland Trail Golf Classic…led team with an outstanding 128 pars and fewest putts for 18 holes with 27…tied for 1^st for fewest chips for 18 holes with 6…collegiate best 82 scoring average for season…6 Top 10 finishes including Medalist at Rossin Memorial Tournament…runner-up at Ursuline Invitational…concluded playing career with a 75, 1 shot off school record, at G-Mac Spring Championship to secure 8^th place finish of 42 golfers.

2016-17: Placed 8^th at the Great Midwest Fall Classic with a two-day score of 176 (96-80)... Her second round score of 80 was her lowest single round of the season…  Placed third at the Rossin Memorial tournament with a score of 181 (90-91)… Tied for third at the Woodridge Open with a score of 82 (single-round tournament)… Second place finish at the Phipps Memorial with a score of 80 (single-round tournament)… Placed fourth at the Ursuline Invitational with a two-day total of 176 (87-89)… Shot a season best two-day total of 166 (82-84) at the G-MAC Championship and tied for fourth… First Team All-Conference

2015-16: Smith shot a season-low individual score of 81 and a 2-day total of 165 at the Cavalier Classic (4/16-17/2016)

Biography: Melanie is the daughter of Cheri and Aaron Smith. Mel played for Mike Yoder at Lake High School. She is majoring in Community and Public Health. Melanie enjoys hiking in her free time. The best part of her game is getting off the tee. Her best club is her driver. Melanie was First Team All-County in high school. She played softball in high school in addition to golfing. Her favorite golfer is Jordan Spieth.
Melanie's favorite Bible verse is, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well," Psalms 139:14.  Her favorite motto is, "Treat others as you want to be treated.”
