NEW CONCORD, Ohio - Muskingum University hosted a tournament on Saturday in which the Malone University STUNT team went 2-0 on the day. The Pioneers are now 11-3 after victories over Saint Mary's College (4-7) 22-12 and Maryville College (4-4) 15-3.

MALONE vs SAINT MARY'S RECAP:
Malone jumped all over Saint Mary's in the first half. They outscored the Belles 4-1 in the first quarter and 5-1 in the second quarter to make the score 9-2 at halftime.

The Pioneers had won seven of the eight rounds in the first half, but Saint Mary's had a strong third period and cut the gap to 14-8. The Belles had won the final two rounds of jumps and tumbling. Malone was able to double the output of Saint Mary's in team routine to lock up the 22-12 win.

Megan Reifsnyder and
Makenna Jurkowski.

MALONE vs MARYVILLE RECAP:
The game between Malone and Maryville was just an eight-round game and the Pioneers outscored their opponents in all. The score was 3-1 after the first quarter and a shutout in the second made it 5-1 Malone at the break.

8-2 was the score through three quarters and the Pioneers held a 7-1 advantage in points during the all-important team routine section. After the final call from the judges, the scoreboard read 15-3 in favor of Malone in this non-conference game.

Julia Gartner joined Herrington, Blankenship, Reifsnyder and Jurkowski as the team's leading scorers with 15 points.

UP NEXT:
Malone heads north to Davenport University for their next games in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play on March 14. The Pioneers play the host Panthers at 12:00 P.M. and a rematch with Tiffin University comes on a neutral mat at 1:15 P.M.
