ASHLAND, Ohio - The Malone University STUNT team concluded the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season on Saturday with games against Davenport University (10-1, 9-0 G-MAC) and Ashland University (15-6, 8-2 G-MAC). The Pioneers (13-6, 5-5 G-MAC) were defeated by the Panthers 28-9 and the Eagles 24-17.

Davenport clinched the G-MAC regular season championship and will host the conference tournament. Ashland is the two seed and Malone tied with Tiffin University for third in the league standings.

MALONE vs DAVENPORT RECAP:
Davenport outscored Malone on partner stunts 5-1, but on routine one, the Pioneers were able to grab one point. The Panthers extended their lead to 9-2 after pyramids and tosses.

Malone was able to draw in routine one of jumps and tumbling, but Davenport increased their lead to 15-5. The Pioneers earned the most points in team routine, but still came up short, 28-9. Malone scored two points in team routines one and two.

MALONE vs ASHLAND RECAP:
Ashland took a 4-3 lead after partner stunts, but the Pioneers were able to score an outright point on the Eagles in routine four and tied on routine one. The teams also tied on pyramids and tosses routine one in the second quarter, but Ashland was able to increase their lead to 9-5 after a pair of outright wins.

Malone netted two points in jumps and tumbling, but were outscored in all four routines and trailed 15-7 going into team routine. The Pioneers were even with the Eagles in all three contested points on team routine one, and Malone held a 4-3 advantage on team routine four, but it was not enough as Ashland held on for the 24-17 win.
