STUNT Seniors Celebrated Before Home Game Against Muskingum

03/01/26

CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University STUNT team celebrated seniors Megan Reifsnyder and Eden Marquis prior to the start of their non-conference game against Muskingum University on Sunday. The Pioneers (9-3) came up just short of the Muskies (6-1) by a score of 23-21.

The teams were even at 3-3 after the first quarter and the second quarter. Neither side was able to obtain a significant advantage, and two of the four rounds during pyramids and tosses ended in 1-1 ties. The third quarter was more of the same as both sides netted five points and the two squads were even at 11-11 with team routine remaining.

Rounds one and two of team routine went to Muskingum by a 4-2 score. The Muskies had opened up their largest lead of the day at 19-15. In a pivotal round three, the judges scored each of the three processes as a tie, resulting in a 3-3 split for points and kept Muskingum in front, 22-18. The Pioneer coaching staff used a challenge, but were unsuccessful in their argument. Despite outscoring the Muskies 3-1 in the fourth round, Malone was defeated 23-21.

The Pioneers will travel to Muskingum for a tournament on Saturday, March 7. Malone will be in action against Maryville College (10:00 A.M.) and Saint Mary's College (1:00 P.M.) in a pair of neutral site games.
