STUNT Now 8-1 Overall After Perfect Weekend

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Malone University STUNT team moved to 8-1 on the season with a pair of victories to conclude the Warrior Invitational at East Stroudsburg University. The Pioneers defeated Randolph College (0-3) by a score of 12-0 in an 8-round game and bested Misericordia University (1-2) 25-10.
 
MALONE vs RANDOLPH RECAP:
The Pioneers won all eight rounds played in their game against Randolph. All eight rounds featured routines one and two, and Malone was able to display their mastery in the partner stunts, pyramids and tosses, jumps and tumbling and team routine.
 
Danielle Blankenship, Megan Reifsnyder, Makenna Jurkowski and Julia Gartner were scoring members in all eight rounds for 12 points. Macy Taylor and Cecilia Herrington were in double-digits as well with 10 points.
 
MALONE vs MISERICORDIA RECAP:
Similar to other games on the 4-0 weekend, the Pioneers jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 4-0 difference in scoring during pyramids and tosses. At halftime, Malone was ahead 8-2. The third quarter was evenly matched. The teams had two ties and each took one point in their own called routines.
 
The Pioneers took an 11-5 lead into the fourth quarter and their team routines were excellent. Malone outscored the Cougars 8-2 in the first two rounds of team routine and then swept Misericordia in the third round. The final round of the day ended in a 3-3 tie, but the Pioneers had already built up a massive lead. Malone won the fourth quarter 14-5 and took the game by a final tally of 25-10.
 
The trio of Blankenship, Reifsnyder and Jurkowski were on the mat for all rounds and scored all 25 points for the squad.
 
UP NEXT:
Conference play continues for the Pioneers on February 28 in a tri-match at Ursuline College. Malone will face Tiffin University at 1:15 P.M. and the host Arrows at 2:45 P.M.
