GREENVILLE, S.C. - Yahya Jawadi of the Malone University cross country team was selected as the NCCAA Athlete of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
Jawadi, a junior from Siracusa, Italy, led the Pioneers to a massive weekend at the Go Fast River Run. Malone was fifth overall in a very talented field and Jawadi was the best individual scorer in 20th with a time of 24:47.1. That mark is the seventh-fastest time in the program's NCAA Division II era.
 
Malone has had three NCCAA Cross Country Athlete of the Week award winners, however Jawadi is the first in 2026 from the men's side and third since rejoining the NCCAA in 2021.
 
The next event for the Pioneers will be the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship hosted by Tiffin University on Saturday, November 7.
