Senior Day Sweep for Malone STUNT

CANTON, Ohio – On senior day, the Malone University STUNT team picked up a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) victories. The Pioneers (6-8, 3-5 G-MAC) defeated Walsh University (4-6, 2-5 G-MAC) by a score of 13-7 and overwhelmed Ursuline College (0-10, 0-10 G-MAC) 20-2. Malone honored seniors Alaina Davis and Ellie Stevenson in between contests.
 
MALONE vs WALSH RECAP:
Malone and Walsh were even at 1-1 through the first quarter of action, but the Pioneers took firm control with a 3-0 second quarter. The Cavaliers drew to within two at 5-3 through three quarters of play, however Malone doubled up Walsh in the fourth quarter, 8-4.
 
The trio of Danielle Blankenship, Megan Reifsnyder and Mattea Morrison had 13 points to lead the Pioneers in scoring. Makenna Jurkowski and Ella McCoy were also in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Blankenship, Reifsnyder, Morrison and Stevenson all scored their 100th career points in the victory.
 
MALONE vs URSULINE RECAP:
The second game of the day for Malone was a dominant performance to send the Arrows to a winless season. The Pioneers swept the first and second quarters with three points in each and entered the fourth quarter with a 10-point lead. Malone doubled their scoring total with a 10-point fourth quarter. They held Ursuline to just two points in the 20-2 victory.
 
Blankenship, Reifsnyder and Morrison were involved in all 20 points scored for the team. Jurkowski (19) and McCoy (18) were heavy contributors. Davis, Emily Wilhelm, Oneal Everett, Stevenson, Eden Marquis, Myla Wolf and Jayla Duffrin all scored 12 points. Carynn Meek and Camdyn Hodas added 10 points.
 
UP NEXT:
The Pioneers return the favor to Walsh as they travel up the road to compete against the Cavaliers on Saturday, March 22. Malone will also face Ashland University in a tri-match at Walsh.
