STUNT Sets Program Record in 1-1 Weekend

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – On Saturday afternoon, the Malone University STUNT program took on Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponents Tiffin University and Ursuline College. The Pioneers were defeated by the Dragons 22-7, but were able to top the host Arrows by a score of 18-3. STUNT is now 3-5 on the year and 1-3 in conference action.
 
MALONE vs TIFFIN RECAP:
The Dragons were able to control the scoreboard with 4-1 wins in the first and third quarters and a second quarter victory 4-2. Tiffin led 12-4 going into the team routine portion of the scoring. Malone would score three points in the fourth quarter, but the Dragons totaled 10 points in the period to cruise to the win, 22-7.
 
Danielle Blankenship, Megan Reifsnyder, Mattea Morrison and Ella McCoy had five points each for the Pioneers. That group of student-athletes scored in partner stunts, pyramid and tosses, jumps and tumbling as well as team routine.
 
MALONE vs URSULINE RECAP:
Malone defeated Ursuline by a score of 18-3 in the last of a tri-match between the three schools. 18 points is a new program record for most in a conference game.
 
In the partner stunts, pyramid and tosses and jumps and tumbling portions of the scoring, the Pioneers were able to claim all three available points to go up 9-2 through three quarters of play. Malone doubled their score with nine more points in the fourth quarter team routines.
 
Blankenship, Reifsnyder and Morrison led the way individually with 18 points apiece. The trio was involved in all scoring plays for the team. Makenna Jurkowski added 16 points and McCoy 15. Alaina Davis, Emily WilhelmOneal Everett, Ellie Stevenson, Eden Marquis, Myla Wolf and Jayla Duffrin were also in double figures, all with 11.

The Pioneers will make another road trip to Davenport University on Friday, February 28 at 6:00 P.M. for a single G-MAC game.
