OBERLIN, Ohio - The Malone University swimming & diving programs competed for the first time in the 2025-26 season on Friday night on day one of the Oberlin Early Invite. The Pioneer men are fourth and women fifth after day one of the two-day invitational. Case Western Reserve University has pulled out to an early lead on both the men's and women's standings.

The men's team scored all of their points on relay events, led by the 200 Freestyle Relay team of
Elisha Thompkins,
Carson Letchworth,
Dylan Yoder and
Seth McMillen. The squad put up a time of 1:33.48, good for 11th overall. The team of
Lincoln Rickleff, McMillen, Thompkins and Yoder were 12th in the 400 Medley Relay at 3:58.42.

On the women's side,
Avery Young (14th) and
Ashtyn Rickel (15) scored points in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Young's time of 25.72 seconds is tied for tenth in program history and Rickel touched the side at 25.78.
Danielle Ketler had the best finish for Malone in the 500 Yard Freestyle. She was 11th with a time of 5:38.12.
Ann-Katherine Burns compiled a time of 2:24.70 for a 16th-place finish in the 200 Yard Individual Medley.

The team of
Lauryn Ebersole, Young, Burns and Rickel combined for an eighth-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:45.34). Additionally, Rickel, Burns, Ebersole and Ketler were ninth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay at 4:25.16.
