ROUND UP
The Pioneers came out firing on all cylinders with a very strong first half performance against last years conference champions. They opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a
Gavin Csiszar header which was put on a platter by freshman
Braden Lamb. A few minutes later the Eagles equalized from the penalty spot, before the Pioneers added two more goals via a brilliant
Myles Schmidt header and a breakaway goal by Lamb to head into the halftime break leading 3-1.
Ashland came out rejuvenated in the second half to narrow the margin to a single goal before Goalkeeper Zander Throckmorton was sent off for a bad tackle. That didn't stop them however, as they tied the game moments later to make it 3-3 which is how the game finished, after a chaotic ending saw each team hit the woodwork with just minutes remaining.
