Marty Meyer, a 1985 Malone graduate (Mathematics), was a four-year letterman in both track & field and cross country at the College. Meyer graduated from Clyde High School in 1980 and competed in both sports and earned a second-place finish at the state cross country meet as a senior. In addition, he was named the Toledo District VFW Athlete of the Year for 1979-80. At Malone, Meyer was a 1983 NAIA All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and also set the NAIA District 22 meet record as well that year. The team’s 1983 track & field MVP, Meyer also posted a PR and track record (9:01) in the steeplechase at Marshall University in the 1985 season.

Meyer and his wife, Lisa, have three children, Katie (5), Joel (2) and Anna (9 months), and reside in Canton. Marty is currently a math teacher at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville.
