Eric Coblentz left an incredible impact on the Malone University men's basketball program in just three seasons. He entered the program as a transfer from Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion, the University of Akron, and played under Head Coach Tim Walker after he made an appearance in the NCAA DI Tournament.

The 2012 graduate averaged the seventh-most points per game of players with more than 1,000 career points at 15.7 points per contest. Coblentz has scored the 29th-most points in program history at 1,366 and received NCCAA All-American honors in all three of his seasons in a Malone uniform. He was First Team in 2011-12, Second Team in 2010-11 and Honorable Mention in 2009-10.

Coblentz was selected as a NCCAA First Team All-Region honoree in all three of those seasons as well as a two-time First Team All-Conference recipient in the American Mideast Conference.

After graduation, Coblentz and his wife Briana served in Haiti where they operated Mamma Sommers Orphanage in Port-au-Prince. The two also served in Indonesia from 2016 to 2024 through Pioneers International. They helped plant churches, worked to create peaceful dialogue between Christians and Muslims and participated in the R20 summit in efforts to combat religious violence.

He completed his Masters of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2015 and entered the Lake High School Athletics Hall of Fame that same year. Since 2024, Coblentz has worked as an Associate Pastor at Evermore Community Church in Hartville, Ohio.
