Jankowska, a freshman from Katowice, Poland, competed in her first meet for Malone last Wednesday (January 2nd) and broke four school records in the Pioneers’ dual meet against visiting Ashland University.
In the first event of the meet, she participated as a member of Malone’s 200 medley relay team which posted a school-record time of 2:02.08. She then went on to smash the Pioneers’ 200 butterfly record by posting a winning time of 2:15.68, breaking the old mark of 2:36.46 (set in 2010-11) by more than 20 seconds.
Later in the meet, Jankowska also shattered the school’s 100 butterfly mark of 1:06.15 (set in 2010-11) by pocketing a winning time of 1:00.52 in the race. She then notched a third individual Malone record by eclipsing the 200 individual medley record of 2:18.01 (set last season) by posting a first-place time of 2:15.88.
