Malone University Athletics

Chase Hooley, a freshman on the Malone men’s swimming  & diving team, helped pace the Pioneer squad to a sixth-place finish among 12 teams at last weekend’s Appalachian Conference Championships in Barbourville, Kentucky. 

The breaststroke and individual medley specialist from Apple Creek, Ohio (Wooster H.S.) broke the conference meet record in the 100 breaststroke finals with a time of 57.44 seconds. He also smashed his own school record in the 200 IM finals in 1:58.27 and his leadoff 50 free in the 200 free relay also set a new Malone standard (that relay unit also broke the previous Pioneer record as well).

In addition, Hooley was a member of Malone’s 200 and 400 medley relays and 400 free relay unit that all posted school records at the meet.
