Blackburn, a junior starting pitcher from Worthington, Ohio (Thomas Worthington H.S.), helped the Pioneers to a four-game series split with Cedarville with a sterling pitching performance in game three.
Blackburn struck out a career-high 11 batters, 10 via the swing and miss, and allowed zero earned runs in a seven-inning complete game victory. The 6’3” southpaw scattered seven hits and did not allow a walk in the 4-1 win. Earlier in the week, Blackburn worked two scoreless innings against Seton Hill surrendering just one hit.
In 22.1 innings pitched this season, Blackburn has yet to allow an earned run and is one of three starting pitchers in the country to sport a perfect 0.00 ERA. Blackburn currently leads the team with 24 strikeouts and leads the G-MAC with a 1.03 WHIP.
