Rankin, a senior from Louisville, Ohio (Louisville H.S.) posted an outstanding time in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the prestigious Raleigh Relays, in Raleigh, North Carolina, last Friday.
Although her 15th-place time of 11:01.33, among 36 entrants, was not quite a personal-best time (her PR is 10:54.87), her time in the race was still one that only one other Pioneer women's student-athlete has ever run faster. Joanna Genter's time of 10:53.30 in 2005 ranks first on Malone's all-time top ten performer list while Rankin, at only 1.5 seconds off that pace, holds the #2 spot. Â
