Wells, a sophomore from Beloit, Ohio, led the Pioneers to an 8-5 record during the squad's season-opening trip to the Tucson Invitational.
The centerfielder and leadoff hitter, who has started the year on a 13-game hitting streak, compiled a .509 (27 of 53) batting average in Arizona with five doubles, three triples and 17 RBI’s.Â
Wells also scored 17 runs and swiped four bases last week and currently boasts a .550 on-base percentage with a .717 slugging percentage.
