At the GLIAC Championships at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio last Wednesday through Saturday, Hoffmann was a part of four “top three” event finishes as he helped Malone to a fourth-place team finish, among the seven-team field.
Individually, Hoffmann, a freshman from Illingen, Germany, finished runner-up in the 500 freestyle in 4:35.07 and third in the 400 individual medley in 3:58.06. In addition, he was a part of the 800 free relay squad that placed third (6:47.43) and the 400 free relay unit that took third (3:05.25).
All of those times were Malone school records and NCAA Division II national B standard times.
