Aquino, a senior forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil, led the Pioneer men’s soccer team to victories in three out of its final four games, including wins over Lake Erie College and the University of Findlay this past weekend.
After the Pioneers downed Lake Erie 3-2 on Friday, Aquino made the most of Senior Day against Findlay on Sunday, netting a hat trick in Malone’s wild 5-4 overtime victory. Aquino scored Malone’s first three goals including two in a span of five minutes that erased a 3-1 second-half deficit.
Aquino concluded the season tied for the GLIAC lead in goals scored with seven while also finishing the year tied for third in the conference in points with 17.
