Baker led the Pioneers to a 3-1 record last week by posting two wins on the mound while also tallying a .571 batting average and three RBI's.
As a pitcher, the junior from Canton Central Catholic High School made two starts, tallying a 2-0 record with a 3.00 earned run average. Baker tossed the first five innings in the Pioneers’ 7-6, rain-shortened win over Ohio Dominican on Wednesday. He then worked seven strong innings in a 3-2 Malone win over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, surrendering just one unearned run on five hits.
When not pitching last week, Baker appeared in the lineup as a designated hitter, going a combined 4-for-7 at the plate with two stolen bases, three RBI's and two runs scored.
