At the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational (hosted by Muskingum University) last Saturday, Smith, a sophomore from Massillon, Ohio (Perry H.S.), won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.84 seconds. He lowered his 15.24 time in the prelims (among 21 hurdlers) by .40 seconds to capture the race.

In addition, he finished second in the finals of the 100-meter dash in 11.28 seconds after taking the same spot in the prelims among 48 athletes.
