Shattell Named G-MAC Co-Coach of the Year; Ault Earns Second Team Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Wednesday afternoon the Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced their 2020-21 Women's Soccer Season Awards. A pair of Pioneers were among those honored in the yearly awards and on the All-Conference teams.

First year head coach Bailey Shattell was named the Co-Coach of the Year in the conference, sharing the honor with Reilee Dupratt from Ohio Dominican University.

After having their championship season moved to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pioneers compiled a 5-5-1 mark during the regular season. They qualified for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, and advanced past the No. 2 seed Ohio Dominican in a 5-4 penalty kick shootout.

Junior forward Madeline Ault was named All-G-MAC Second Team.

Ault finished the regular season as the conference leader with 12 points, and was tied for the G-MAC lead with five goals.

She opened up the season with a pair of goals in Malone's 3-0 win over Hiram College. She also had an assist in the contest.

When the schedule shifted to G-MAC play Ault netted goals in three consecutive matches against Kentucky Wesleyan, Ohio Valley and Tiffin. The scores against OVU and TU were the game-winning goals.
