Malone University sophomore Isabella Roberts has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's Softball Pitcher of the Week following her strong performance during the Pioneers' recent spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Roberts, from Euclid, Ohio (Euclid H.S.), registered a 3-0 record in the circle last week with a 1.30 earned run average over 27.0 innings of work.  In three starts and one relief appearance, Roberts tossed three complete games while striking out 15 and walking just six.

She tossed all 11 innings of Malone's 6-5, extra-inning triumph over Cardinal Stritch University on Monday, yielding three earned runs and striking out four.  Roberts notched her first career shutout in a 5-0 victory over Glenville State College on Wednesday before tossing seven strong innings during a 6-2 win against Ohio Christian University on Friday.

The Pioneers, now 6-4 overall, are slated to be back in action on March 22 when they host their home opener against West Liberty University.
