The Malone University volleyball team will host Tiffin University this Tuesday, October 17th at 7:00 pm in a non-conference contest. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pioneers will be playing their annual "Dig Pink" match on Tuesday. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and donations for the cause will also be accepted. Proceeds will go to Houghton College head volleyball coach Nancy Cole, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. To read more about Coach Cole and her battle with cancer,

- The Pioneers are coming off a three-set win over Salem International on Saturday in which they moved to 10-2 in the Midwest Region. Malone, now 14-6 overall this season, will look to further improve its regional resume when it battles Tiffin on Tuesday.
- Outside hitter Faith Lau led Malone with 11 kills against SIU and now has an even 400 in her career. On the season she is averaging 2.52 kills per set.
- Mallory Adams collected 10 kills and four blocks against Salem as she continues to put up big numbers across the board. Adams is averaging 2.70 kills, 2.73 digs, and 1.04 blocks per set while also leading Malone with 31 service aces.
- Veronica Gehring leads Malone with 2.83 kills a set and a .220 attacking percentage.
- Setter Cathryn Miller paces the team with 468 assists (6.32/s) while ranking third in digs with 176 (2.38/s).
- Junior libero Maggie Hamrock leads the Pioneers with 299 digs (3.78/s). Hamrock has at least nine digs in all 20 matches this season.
- Defensive specialist Sydney Black (2.03 digs/set) and middle hitter Brooklyn Sullivan (0.83 blocks/set) have made significant contributions defensively while right side hitters Hannah Eliason (1.73 kills/set, 0.71 blocks/set) and Rachel Santos (1.63 k/s, 0.44 b/s) continue to produce on both sides of the net.
- As a whole, the Malone defense has held 11 of its last 12 opponents below a .200 hitting percentage. The Pioneers are 9-3 during that stretch.
- Malone comes into Tuesday's match in Osborne Hall with a 7-1 record at home

- The Dragons are 10-10 on this season and 4-5 in road matches. Tiffin, who will join the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) in 2018, has lost four straight matches, including three in a row at the Midwest Region Crossover this past weekend.
- Sophomore middle hitter Jenna Huffman was named the GLIAC Blocker of the Year as well as All- GLIAC First Team as a freshman in 2016. She led Tiffin with 32 kills, 32 digs, and 10 blocks across the three weekend matches.
- On the season, she leads the team with 2.84 kills and 1.00 blocks per set and is second with 2.47 digs.
- Huffman, Malone's Mallory Adams, and All-Americans Skylar German of Post University and Mackenzie Harrison of Fairmont State were the only four players in DII last season with at least 325 kills, 170 digs, and 100 blocks. Huffman and Adams will square off against one another for the first time on Tuesday.
- Dragon libero Taylor Lattimore was Second Team All-GLIAC in 2016. She is currently fourth in the league with 5.04 digs per set.
