The Malone University volleyball team begins a stretch of four straight home matches this Saturday, October 14th when it welcomes Salem International University to Osborne Hall for a non-conference match at 4:00 pm. While most of the Midwest Region teams will be competing in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament this weekend in Aurora, Illinois, Malone, now 13-6 on the season, will remain in Canton to celebrate Homecoming and look to improve upon its 9-2 in-region record when they host the Tigers.

Malone NotesÂ
- Last weekend, the Pioneers went 1-1, beating Ohio Dominican in four sets on Friday before losing to Cedarville in four sets Saturday.
- Veronica Gehring led Malone with 25 kills in those two matches. On the season, she leads the Pioneers with 2.83 kills per set and a .220 attacking percentage. Defensively, Gehring set a career-high with six blocks at Cedarville.
- Mallory Adams had 10 kills in each match and is posting 2.67 kills per set this season. Defensively, she is averaging 2.80 digs and 1.03 blocks per set. Adams is the only player in DII with 200 kills, 200 digs, and 75 blocks.
- Faith Lau (14), Hannah Eliason (13), and Rachel Santos (12) combined for 39 kills in the two matches last weekend.
- Setters Cathryn Miller and Abbie Swaino each recorded double-doubles. Miller totaled 21 assists and 14 digs against Cedarville. Swaino collected 15 assists and 11 digs at Ohio Dominican. As a team, Malone ranks 5th in the Midwest Region with 837 assists this season.
- The Pioneers are 4th in the Midwest in total digs with 1,255. Maggie Hamrock leads the squad with 285 digs (3.75 d/s). Miller (2.40 d/s) and Sydney Black (2.03 d/s) have both made significant contributions in the back row.
- At the net, Malone is 6th in the Midwest with 155 total blocks. Along with Adams, Brooklyn Sullivan (0.86 b/s) and Eliason (0.72 b/s) form one of the most formidable blocking trios in the Region. They should fare well on Saturday against an SIU team that hits just .099.
- Coming into Saturday's match, Malone is 6-1 at home this season.

- The Tigers are just 3-5 on the road this season and 5-19 overall. SIU is coming off of a three-set loss to West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.
