Matt Blasiole and
JC Pawlyk have been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Players of the Week after their performances last Saturday against Notre Dame College (OH).

Matt Blasiole earned his second G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season after an outstanding outing against the Falcons. The junior running back ran for 161 yards on 18 carries (8.9 ypc) including a 75-yard touchdown on the game's first play from scrimmage. He added one reception for 24 yards that set up another Malone touchdown in the third quarter. So far this season, Blasiole has 397 yards rushing, 74 yards receiving, and three touchdowns. He also earned G-MAC Player of the Week following a week one win against Taylor.

JC Pawlyk was named G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a team-high 12 tackles against the Falcons. The senior safety registered two tackles for loss and was credited with a half sack. Pawlyk leads the Malone secondary with 24 tackles through three games this season.

Kentucky Wesleyan defensive back Colton Billups, who returned a blocked field goal 85 yards for a touchdown against Davenport, was named the G-MAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Malone will return to the gridiron this Saturday, September 24th at 7:00 pm in a road meeting with NCAA Division I FCS opponent Robert Morris University (PA).
