Malone University running back Matt Blasiole was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Offensive Player of the Week following an outstanding performance on Saturday against Walsh. In addition to Blasiole's honor, kicker Marcus Moeller was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after going a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal tries.
 
Matt Blasiole, a Uniontown, Ohio native, ran for a conference-high 170 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries in the 24-21 loss to Walsh. The junior workhorse added four receptions for 65 yards, setting a season-high with 235 yards of total offense. He scored on touchdown runs of seven and 53 yards and caught a career-long 62 yard pass to set up a Pioneer field goal. So far this season, Blasiole has 679 yards rushing, 215 yards receiving, and seven total touchdowns. This week marks the third time this season he has won the weekly award after taking home the honors in weeks one and three.
 
Redshirt sophomore Marcus Moeller also repeated as the G-MAC Special Teams for the third time after winning the award in weeks one and four. Moeller connected on a career-high three field goals on Saturday night. He made a pair of 23-yarders in the first half before drilling a career-long 47-yarder in the 4th quarter. The 47-yard kick tied for the 5th longest in Malone history and was the longest in the G-MAC this season. The Denmark native is 10-of-12 on field goal attempts this year. His .833 field goal percentage is tied for 9th-best in NCAA DII.

The Pioneers will celebrate senior day this Saturday, October 29th, when they host the University of God's Chosen at 2:00 pm at GlenOak High School.
